Dr. Jeff Schulz

Dr Jeff Schulz, originally from Chilliwack, completed medical school at UBC and family practice residency in Victoria.

Although he misses the ocean, he is happy to be back on the mainland  – he splits his time between hospital medicine in Abbotsford, and rural medicine in Hope. In particular he enjoys the supportive medical staff in Hope,  the challenges of rural emergency medicine and practice sharing with Dr Josh Greggain.

He has done additional training in tropical medicine and has worked with the United Nations supporting refugees  in East Africa.

Dr. Mike Kerr

Dr. Kerr completed medical school at university British Columbia and a residency in family medicine at Chilliwack General Hospital.  He completed his residency in 2018. He has been part of Hope medical centre. since August 2018

Dr. Ben Love

Dr. Ben Love joined the Hope Medical Centre in January 2018 after locuming in Hope in 2017.  His first medical placement in Hope was in 2016 during a residency elective. 

Originally from Ontario, his first visit to Hope was in the summer of 2010 during a bike ride across Canada, discovering Hope as a town of beautiful scenery and quite proud of their affiliation with Rambo First Blood.

Dr. Love shares a practice with Dr. Haffey, and works in the Chilliwack and Hope emergency departments.  In his spare time his interests include a wide variety of sports and outdoor activities, guitar, and travel.

Dr. Rosanna Switzer, MD, CCFP

Dr. Rosanna Switzer has been working in Hope as a family physician since finishing residency in 2009.

Originally from the Fraser Valley, she has completed both an undergraduate degree and medical school at UBC. Rosanna started in Hope as a locum and has settled into having her own practice since 2013.

Dr. Switzer enjoys the balance she has from an office practice, while also working in the emergency room at the Fraser Canyon Hospital (FCH). She is the Department Head of Family Practice.

As well, Dr. Switzer is involved with teaching both medical students and residents.

On her time away from work, she loves spending time with her family and doing outdoor activities such as running, cycling, camping, skiing, hiking, and paddle boarding.

Dr. Stefan Patrascu, MD, CCFP

Dr. Stefan Patrascu joined the Hope Medical Centre in September 2016 after completing his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Montreal.

He believes in providing evidence-based medicine that is tailored to each individual patient. He likes the scope of practice that is available in a rural community such as Hope, and particularly enjoys working in the ER at Fraser Canyon Hospital.

One of his main clinical interests is point-of-care ultrasound in the ER.

Dr. Stefan Patrascu is the Department Head of Emergency Medicine at the Fraser Canyon Hospital.

Having grown up in Montreal, he is a big supporter of the Montreal Canadians. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, curling and playing hockey as a goalie.

Dr. Taha Heydari, MD, CCFP

Dr. Heydari has been practicing in Hope since July 2015 and truly enjoys the diversity of practice in Hope’s rural setting.

His scope of practice ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics and his areas of interest include dermatology and cosmetic medicine. In addition to family medicine, Dr. Heydari works in emergency providing care for patients experiencing various health concerns.

He notes, “The collegial office environment and opportunity to provide health care for an underserved local population make this an excellent community to practice in. Moreover, a well-equipped emergency department and hospital are an asset to the community. We also have an ideal relationship with specialists, which enables efficient and easy patient referrals and consultations.”

When he is not working, Dr. Heydari enjoys swimming and collecting stamps from all over the world. The small town feel of Hope’s community, the hospitality of its residents, and the accessibility of local amenities such as the gym, library and pool are some of Dr. Heydari’s favourite things about Hope.

Dr. Daniel Haffey, MD, CCFP

Dr. Daniel Haffey was born and raised in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Dr. Haffey attended medical school at the University of Saskatchewan. He moved to British Columbia in 2014 for his family medicine residency in Chilliwack.

Officially joining the Hope Medical Centre practice in 2017, he and Dr. Whalley currently enjoying the sharing of a practice.

Dr. Aseem Grover, MD, CCFP

Dr. Aseem Grover joined the Hope Medical Centre in September 2016 after completing the Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver.

Dr. Grover divides his time  at the Hope Medical Centre, Fraser Canyon Hospital and the Fraser Canyon Walk-In.  Dr. Grover’s medical interests are chronic complex care, rural emergency medicine and addictions medicine.

Dr. Grover enjoys coaching grade 6-8 basketball at the Hope Secondary School.

Dr. Joshua Greggain, MD, CCFP

Dr. Josh Greggain has been  a family physician in Hope since 2007. He first developed a  connection with Hope during his  rural family practice rotation in 2004.

He is currently the Site Medical Director of the Fraser Canyon Hospital, and serves the community of Boston Bar at the Anderson Creek clinic.

Dr. Greggain has a passion for rural family practice, and has helped improve access to medical care in Hope and the Fraser Canyon.  He is fiercely proud of the  medical care provided by the physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and staff at the  Hope Medical Centre and the Fraser Canyon Hospital.

In his spare time, he loves exploring the outdoors; boating at Kawkawa Lake,  hiking the HBC trail and jeeping the forestry roads in the beautiful scenery surrounding Hope.
